The HRA has a powerful Mission Statement which states that the Hermanus Ratepayers Association is determined to preserve the character and natural beauty of the Overberg in a sustainable manner. As a watchdog body we shall seek close cooperation with the Local and Provincial Authority to ensure that future developments are in keeping with the spirit of this statement. We shall endeavor to ensure that Municipal services are carried out in an economic, effective, efficient transparent and accountable manner.

The HRA draws its members from the geographical area of the Overstrand Municipality and includes all 13 Wards.

.The Membership is open to all persons over the age of 18 years who support the HRA‘s Constitution and who own property in the geographic area or who are bona fide lessees of property in the geographic area as well as the spouses or partners of such owners or lessees.  Membership may also be taken up by a corporate body or trust. A person, corporate or trust may only exercise membership rights if membership fees are paid up.

Newsletters will be posted on this website and  will give the readers and members the insight into work accomplished towards the attainment of the goals that HRA  were mandated to achieve. We need your continued support to enable us to “work for you”.  The greatest achievement we could attain is to bring about lasting peace and harmony, protection and respect and value of our natural environment and all the people of the Overberg.
